Marie Phillips lives and breathes the mantra that “A goal without a plan is just a wish”. As a professional financial planner, she works with clients to help them paint a detailed picture of the future and coaches them on the steps required to achieve that goal. Although the detailed strategies will incorporate tax, education, insurance, banking, retirement and estate planning, she breaks down each goal into manageable next steps that can be tackled one by one — like single steps on a journey through life. With over 20 years in the financial services industry and with an early focus on compliance, she has been dedicated to ongoing education and has earned her Professional Financial Planning accreditation. She’s also completed CIFP’s Registered Retirement Consultant designation as well as many courses on tax, ethics and estate planning. Marie emigrated from the U.K. to Canada in 1975. She lives in Alberton with her husband Craig and daughters Kelty and Lachlann. She also supports a number of community organizations including: Lunches for Kids, Big Brothers and March of Dimes. She is an amateur musician and is on the Board of Directors for the Hamilton All-Star Jazz Band.
